Gas Supply

• Energia is the largest independent energy supply company on the island of Ireland.
• It is a licensed by the Commission for Energy Regulation as a gas Shipper/Supplier having received one of the first of such licences in 2002.
• Energia is part of the Viridian Group which has invested over €500 million building 2 gas fired power stations outside Dublin to assist Ireland in meeting its growing electricity demand.
• This investment demonstrates Viridian’s clear commitment to Ireland and to bringing about the real benefits of competition to customers by offering real choice.
• Energia has been buying and selling gas for use in Ireland since the first quarter of 2002 for its power stations and its retail gas business.
• Combined these make up approximately one third of all natural gas consumed in Ireland.
• By virtue of its company and gas portfolio size Energia is in a very favourable position when negotiating its gas supply deals that allows it to offer highly competitive energy supply deals to all its valued customers.
• Energia has been successfully growing its retail gas business steadily over a number of years and today is the gas supplier of choice to over 25% of the largest gas users in Ireland.
