of waste sent to landfill and increase our recycling rates year on year..."
Declan Cassidy, Managing Director, Gunne Residential, said:
"In choosing Energia, we are saving up to 10% on our electricity bills, a substantial
reduction from a business point of view and a positive reinforcement of our belief
in the importance of energy efficiency. We actively promote the inclusion of energy
efficiency measures and switching our electricity supply to Energia enables us to
provide good corporate example, as well as making sound economic sense."
Robert Barron, Marketing and IT Director, Flairline Fashion commented:
"Through our three chains of retail stores we offer our customers a wide range of
clothing that suits their needs whether it is casual or evening wear. In the same
way Energia is meeting their customers’ needs by saving Flairline Fashions money
which is very important to the company in this climate of spiralling electricity
costs."
Pam Daly, Marketing Director of TRAVELSAVERS Ireland, said:
"Cost efficiency is a key element of our capability to provide high-quality holidays
at value-for-money prices. For that reason it makes sense for us to partner with
a leading power provider, which has led to the achievement of significant new economies
directly for our member agencies."
Vincent Jennings, CEO, Irish Retail Newsagents Association, commented:
"IRNA is committed to reducing the overheads incurred by our members. By helping

for the future."

offered us the most competitive package to suit our expanding business needs."

emissions. We are so proud of the effort and enthusiasm they have shown toward the
school’s green initiative. It is almost like the roles have reversed as the students
are now teaching the teachers. As a result we have all become a lot more aware of
the environment around us and the effect we have on it."

As with all businesses it’s essential to keep overheads as low as possible. By choosing
Energia we are now saving 10% on our electricity bills and this money can be fed
back into the business."
One of Northern Ireland’s most successful manufacturers, Camden Group, has invested
in an energy efficient variable speed drive compressor to help maintain its competitive
edge:
"We have opted for Energia’s grant-aided efficiency scheme which should see our
investment paid back within two years," says Camden Group Project Manager Lindsay
McDowell. "The reduction in the compressors electricity consumption should be in
the region of fifty per cent."
John Thompson’s Managing Director, Declan Billington, who is also current Chairman
of the CBI in Northern Ireland, says the supply switch is clear demonstration that
deregulation and freedom of choice is now becoming apparent in the gas market:
"We are very pleased to have the choice of gas supplier at last, not least as we
are making history as the first large gas users in the north to sign up to Energia’s
supply,” he says. “The freedom of choice to businesses who have been battered by
rocketing energy prices in the last 18 months is more critical than ever and we
welcome competition in the sector."
Stephen Kennedy, Curley’s Supermarkets Director, said:
"We recently completed a £5m redevelopment project in which we totally rebuilt the
supermarket and upgraded the malls and general public areas within the centre. This
was a natural time for us to look how our business practice impacted on the environment
and we are delighted to have joined with Energia and the Carbon Trust in putting
new practices into being. We look forward to working closely with Energia to reduce
our energy usage as much as is possible. We are committed to the efficient use of
resources by reducing the amount of energy we use."

brighter factory and so a better working environment. It has been a most beneficial
change – now the company is more energy efficient and energia’s lighting scheme
means long-term saving with our pay-back period being less than two years."
